Politics, Charities and Causes

My blog is entirely non-profit and personal, I never will demand money to feed my drink, drug, caffeine or spending habits. Instead I’d like to raise awareness to political campaigns, pressure groups and charities that I’m involved or feel strongly about. Whether or not you agree with their cause is entirely your call, but I would hope you take some time out to read about them and maybe even donate, get involved or don their merchandise.

Free Gary McKinnon - Website supporting British citizen Gary McKinnon, who is facing “fast track” extradition to the USA (after over five six seven years since his initial arrest!).

Pirate Party - The Pirate Party has three core policies: reform copyright and patent law, end excessive surveillance and ensure everyone has real freedom of speech.

NO2ID - We are a single-issue group focused on the threat to liberty and privacy posed by the rapid growth of the database state, of which “ID cards” are the most visible part.

The Big Issue - The Big Issue exists to offer homeless and vulnerably housed people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income.

The Free Society - The Free Society (TFS) has been launched by the smokers’ lobby group Forest to give a voice to those who want less not more government interference in their daily lives.

Greenpeace UK - Greenpeace stands for positive change through action. We defend the natural world and promote peace.

Amnesty UK - As a movement of ordinary people from across the world standing up for humanity and human rights, our purpose is to protect individuals wherever justice, fairness, freedom and truth are denied.

League Against Cruel Sports - The League Against Cruel Sports is determined to see the end of cruelty to animals in so-called ’sport’.

Oxfam - Our purpose is to work with others to overcome poverty and suffering.

Liberal Democrats - The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

Tescopoly - Highlights and challenges the negative impacts of Tesco’s behaviour along its supply chains both in the UK and internationally, on small businesses, on communities and the environment.

Axe the Beer Tax - The “Axe The Beer Tax” campaign brings together all those with an interest in saving the British pub. We have launched this campaign because a great British tradition is under threat.
